Our Challenge
Our biggest challenge is improving recycling levels of plastic in order to lessen its impact on the environment, which we hope in turn will improve consumer's perception of plastic packaging. Most of our packaging is made from PET which is completely recyclable so should be recycled whenever possible.
Closed Loop
Because we cannot rely on landfill for the disposal of our waste in the future we must seek more sustainable methods of waste treatment. So Pregis are now using recycled PET (rPET) in an increasing number of our packaging lines, which is made using post consumer waste (and we are looking to grow use of rPet all the time).
When end-users dispose of this packaging this can be captured, sorted and recyclable materials will be put back into the recycling loop know as 'Closed Loop Recycling'.
